Janice Lynn Hefner,"Jamit", age 74, of Akron, Ohio, walked through Heaven's gates on October 19, 2021 in Barberton.
She was born on January 13, 1947 in Akron, the daughter of the late Robert A. and Betty R. (nee Bruce) Sheakley.
Mrs. Hefner graduated from Central Hower High School in 1965 and attended Southern Ohio College. Jamit was known as a highly skilled bowler, master poker player, avid song writer and fashionista.
Survivors include her children, Richard (Bobbie) Hefner and Kimberly (David Cain) Hefner; her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
"Mom fought a good fight, finished the course and kept the faith, with the comfort and support of her family and dearest friends by her side. Fly high until we meet again MOM- Love, your Kids and Grandkids, WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!"
We will be having a memorial and celebration of her life, as she intended, and it will be announced at a later date.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
