Janice L. Mollohan
Passed away on Oct. 12th 2009 at Akron City Hospital
Born May 8, 1940 .
She was born to her parents Clarence and Dorothy Teeling in Akron. She leaves behind 3 wonderful siblings, sister Becky (Marlin) Fordham, brother Larry (Donna) Teeling and brother Lonnie (Sandy) Teeling.
She married Ira (Sam) Mollohan when she was just 16 years old. They were best friends and soul mates for 53 years, until his recent passing on January 2, 2009.
They raised five children together: son Gary (Gerrie), daughter Cheryl (Al LeCount), son Kevin (Barbara), daughter Cara (Jeff) Cumberlidge, and son Randy (Sandy), and for most of his teenage years, foster son Tony (Kelly) Williams.
Our Mother & Father loved children, spending 15 years as foster parents, taking into their home over 50 foster children. They loved each one as if they were their own child.
Together, she and Sam loved to travel to places like Phoenix, Labrador, Alaska, Las Vegas, Reno and Amish Country to name just a few of their travels.
They spent a lot of winters running from the "Ohio Snow" to enjoy the "Western Sun".
Mom loved to sit with her family and eat at son Kevin's restaurant; Anzio's or visit with her sister Becky in Camp Verde, Arizona, and especially playing nickel slots as our Dad lost at the black jack table.
She and Dad loved to talk about their travels to Alaska, and Labrador, Canada to visit with dear friends Tony and Lidija Chubbs.
As much as she loved to travel, our Mom also loved spending time with her grandchildren: Matthew (Christina), Jason (Jessica) Amanda (C.C. Penrod), Casey, Kailee, Grace and Ryan, and her great-grandchildren: Trent, Dante, Chloe, Jayden and Delaney. She really enjoyed riding the golf cart; toasting marshmallows around the fire; going to Cedar Point or the Fair to see the animals; and Trick or Treating with her grand kids. She went to their school programs and Grand Parents Day too, and her favorite place of all Disneyland. Our Mom loved doing just about anything, as long as she was with one of her Grandchildren.
Our mother was extremely close to her brother and sister in-laws also, and even though many of her nieces and nephews lived far away from here she always managed to let them know how much they meant to her.
Our Mother loved people and animals. She devoted most her life to both. If she knew someone needed help, she was there always. If an animal needed a home she found it one. Dogs were people to her, and she leaves behind three that have been the center of her life for these last few years: Pepe, Peso and Molly, and a stray cat named Whiskers that moved in 9 years ago and never left even though she was allergic to him.
Our Mother left behind many lifetime friends: Jackie and Vince Columbini; Jack and Jane Kelly; Donna and Gene Wright; Phyllis Neer, and Katie Kiel. My Mother also leaves behind her best friend Rev. Judy Carter-Shaffer. Judy helped her fill the long days she faced after our dad died.
Our parents had a wonderful doctor that seen them through many struggles, we consider Dr. Ken Wells part of our family. All of us want him to know how grateful we are for what he did for our parents over the last 20 years. Our Mom lived a long and happy life, filled with laughter, joy, and love. She defined generosity, and leaves behind a legacy of caring and love. She truly made the world a better place for those who knew her.
