Jean M. Bailey, 96, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024. She was born in Akron, Ohio to James and Louise (Bryan) Baksa and was a lifelong area resident. Jean retired from working as a nursing assistant at Akron General Medical Center with 17 years of service. She was a wonderful daughter, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She loved spending time with all of them. She was always proud to tell everyone how many grandchildren and great grandchildren she had.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles B. Bailey; son, Chuck Bailey; and brother, James Baksa. She will be sadly missed by her children, Tammy Bailey, Lisa McAvinew, James Bailey; Grandchildren, Joshua (Chrissy) Bailey, Jeniffer Ruggles, Sara Stangelo, Beth (Amber) Bailey, Michael (Ashley) McAvinew,
Jon (Courtney) McAvinew, Jake (Sarah) McAvinew, Kiera (Eric) Smith, Emeline Mason, Ethan Bailey, and her 18 Great Grandchildren.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. In respecting her wishes there will be a private family gathering where we will honor, laugh, cry and remember all of the many memories of the past 96 years of her life.
Those who wish may make memorial donations in her name to Immaculate Conception Church at 2101 17th St. SW, Akron, OH 44314.
