Jean C. Stapleton, 81, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2009. Jean was a member of Tallmadge Church of the Nazarene and had worked for Weaver School. She was a member of the Neta Chapter of the Eastern Star and won several awards for selling Avon. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert G. Stapleton. Survivors include daughters Deanna (Jerry) Martin and Cyndy Stapleton; son Sgt. John "Randy" (Tracy) Stapleton; brothers Lester and George Cox; grandchildren Michael, Danielle and A.J. Martin, Katie and Andrea Stapleton; great-granddaughter Brenna Martin. Calling hours will be Thursday, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a funeral service immediately following at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local food bank of one's choice or the Alzheimer's Association.
