Jean Martin, 92, of Akron, passed away on June 1, 2016. She was born in Akron on December 23, 1923 to the late John and Alma Cunningham. Jean was a teller at several local banks, worked alongside her husband at Martini's Restaurant on Copley Road, and later retired from the University of Akron Health Service after sixteen years of service. She had many interests including bridge, reading, crossword puzzles, and dominoes. She was a diehard fan of the Cavs and the Indians but gave up on the Browns years ago. Jean's greatest love was her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and will be deeply missed by her children, Barbara (Phil) Jenkins, Kimberly Martin, Robert (Wendy) Martin, and Jill (David) Martin-Ingram; grandchildren, Katie (Nate) Howard, Kimberly (Mike) Frazee, Annie (Andy) Crawford, Willie Martin, Miles Martin, and Cole Martin; and seven great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Per Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be privately laid to rest at a later date.
