Jean Samerdak
In loving memory of Jean Samerdak, age 76, of Akron, who was called home on Saturday, July 8, 2006. Jean worked for Goodyear in her early years, then was a stay at home mom and Girl Scout leader. After her family was raised, she returned to work at Interval Brotherhood where she was a cook and good friend, retiring in February 2002. Jean touched many lives throughout her lifetime and was liked by all who knew her. She held a special place in her heart for animals and has taken in wild birds and rabbits to every domstic pet imaginable at one time or another. Jean leaves her legacy with her daughter, Diane (Thomas) Brown, son, David (Lori) Samerdak, grandchildren, Linda, Benjamin, Noah, Jacob, and Madelyn, sister, Irene, and several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, parents, Ignancy and Helen Matczak, grandparents, Vincent and Teresa Nowaki, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her brother-in-law. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-11:30 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 12 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church on Brown St. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
