Jeanette Carter, 83, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on November 20, 2024. 

She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Morgan and Signora McCaskin on December 27, 1940. Jeanette was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1958. She was a devoted wife and mother. 

Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest, her caring parents, Morgan and Signora; and her sisters, Geraldine Baines and Marie Grey. 

She is survived by her supportive brother, Morgan (Barbara) McCaskin of Texas; her resilient daughters, Anna (Darrel) Hatchett of Ohio, Ernella (Zachary) Hopson of Texas, Michelle Carter of Ohio, Pamela (Kevin) Barnes of Georgia, Cynthia (Vernon) Floyd of Ohio, and Yolanda (Lamont) Maxwell of Ohio; her strong sons, Jerome (Sherry) Carter of Arizona and Paul Carter of Ohio; and a loving circle of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1953, Jeanette devoted 71 years to serving as a faithful minister. Her deep love for Jehovah was shown by her eagerness to share the Bible's promises for the future, inspiring hope for life in the New World under God's Kingdom, where death and sickness will be no more. 

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Mount Peace Cemetery, located at 183 Aqueduct St, Akron, OH. 

A memorial service will follow on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 3 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 3806 State Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
