Jeanette Elaine Parks, age 90 of Akron, Ohio, died on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2021 at 7:05 PM at Akron General.
She was born on November 17, 1931 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur William and Lucy Terret (nee Taylor) Platt.
Jeanette was a cook for many years at Bel Air Lanes in Akron. Jeanette was a member of Springfield Baptist Church; and a member of the Oriel Club. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, shopping-especially to Sugar Creek, however, her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include her two daughters, Louann (David) Highman and Diane Cline; her three granddaughters, Kelly (Mike) Lavensky, Rachelle Highman and Stacy Booher; and her nine great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Marissa, Brianna, Tyson, Shyla, Azrael, Akira, Alijah and Axavier.
Jeanette's sister is also surviving, Carol Ferell.
Other than her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, B. F. Parks in March of 2000; her daughter, JoAnn Parks; her son-in-law, David Cline; and her siblings, Labon Platt, Wanda Forsythe, Wayne Platt and Douglas Platt.
Funeral Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 4:00 PM, with visitation to follow until 7:00 PM.
Pastor Jeremy Candelaria will celebrate Jeanette's life.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
