Jennifer Ashley Tomer, 24, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2013. Jennifer was born on August 26, 1988 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She graduated in 2006 from Norton High School where she played the clarinet in the marching band. In 2010 she earned a degree in biology from Lake Erie College, where she was a member of the band and the choir. Jennifer loved music and riding her horses. She was devoted to her family, especially her sister, and many friends. Jennifer has gone on to the next step in her journey.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Genevieve Tomer and Flora Jean Miller. She will be deeply missed by her parents, Robert and Sandra Tomer; brother, Shawn Tomer; sister, Morgan Tomer; grandfather, Loren Miller; aunts, uncles, and cousins; many friends including best friend, Arielle Smith; and her beloved horse, Hank the Tank.
Visitation will be Friday February 15 from 12-2 followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
