Jennifer Leigh East, 33, of Akron, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 2, 2011. Jennifer was born May 17, 1978 in Akron. She will always be remembered as a hardworking, determined and loyal person. Her determination allowed her to complete her Masters Degree in Education from Kent State University despite dealing with her illness. Above all, she was a loving, devoted mother to her two young daughters, Kana Mae and Phoebe Antoinette. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Clay East; daughters, Kana Mae (Age 5) and Phoebe Antoinette (Age 2); parents, Bryan T. and Toni Fern; sister, Judi (Ben) Rausch; grandmother, Louise Henico; and many other relatives and friends. Jennifer's family would like to thank everyone who lent support during her illness as well as Hospice of Western Reserve. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 6 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10-11 followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Lakemore United Methodist Church 1536 Flickinger Rd., Akron with Rev. Jeff Gindlesberger officiating. Interment at Copley Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jennifer East Memorial Fund at any Key Bank.
