Jerome F Davis
June. 8, 1929 – January 7, 2022.
Jerry was a resident of Goodyear Heights, Akron since the 1950's. He was born in Chicago, the son of Lucille Davis (deceased) and Charles Morehead (deceased) of Illinois. Preceded in death by Connie Davis (wife), John R Davis (son), and Robert Davis (brother).
He is survived by his children, Monte (Nahed) Davis, Peggy (Patrick) McDowell, Terry (Darrell) Kirby, Cindy (John) Haggerty, Jimmy Davis, Joe (Kristen) Davis, Michael (Erica) Davis and Eileen (Andrew) Herrlinger. Grandfather to Matthew, Allison (Jason), Caroline, Jerry, Joe, Billie, Angela, Mackenzie, Harrison, Hunter, Mariah, Kendall, Kaydence, Ethan, & Jack. Great Grandchildren Landon and Aubrey.
He served in the US Navy during the end of WWII and the Merchant Marines. Jerry was a self-employed contractor for many years specializing in flooring and tile. He belonged to Annunciation Church in Akron for many years.
Jerry was an avid sports fan. He was active in all the kids sporting events when they were at Annunciation Grade School, St. Vincent High School and East High School.
He loved listening to Cleveland sports on the radio or TV. He followed the Cleveland Indians, the Browns, and the Cavaliers. He was always a fan of his hometown team, The Chicago White Sox.
Jerry will be missed by his family, friends, and associates in the Akron area. The family has decided that funeral/burial services will be postponed until the summer.
