Jerome L. Silverman

January 14, 1970 — January 8, 2025

Jerome Louis Silverman, Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jerome Louis Silverman, Jr., of Brimfield Township, age 54, who died on 1-8-2025 at University Hospitals, (Portage County, OH). Jerome was born on 1-14-1970 in Cincinnati, OH to Jerome Louis Silverman, Sr. and Anne Ruth Burroughs.

Throughout his life, Jerome (“Jay”) was known for his love of his dogs, his wonderful cooking, his ability to craft anything to make someone happy, and his love for hosting family dinners and holidays. Jay was an incredibly selfless individual that put the needs of others as a priority in his life. A Finance/Sales Manager and LPN by trade, Jay worked for 20 years at various companies in Automotive, Mortgage, and Computer Sales where he was widely respected for assisting with helping people achieve their dream of home ownership or their first car. He provided the best customer service to anyone, helping them through all the processes involved.

Jay was passionate about his love of animals, especially his dogs Trisha and Bruiser, and dedicated much of his life to helping people. His warmth, generosity, and commitment were continuously felt by family, friends, and anyone who had the opportunity to know him. He had the unique ability to make anyone that knew him feel special by fostering a one-of-a-kind relationship with them. Jay will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. Jay, in the last three years, welcomed into his care and family Alex I. Mamounis. Alex, his nephew, he loved very much and enjoyed helping him grow into the young man he is today.

Jay is survived by his mother, Anne Ruth Burroughs, Patricia A. Silverman (step-mother), Brett Silverman (brother), Sheri Lynn Burroughs (half-sister), Jeff Shaeffer (step-brother), Rebecca (Thomas) Cekovsky (step-sister), Stephanie (Michael) Brookie (niece), Adam and Abby Fox (nephew and niece), as well as Leo Brookie (great-nephew).

He was preceded in death by Jerome Louis Silverman, Sr. (father), and Jerry and Patricia Silverman (grandparents).

Jay’s wish was that no funeral or burial services would be held in the event of his passing. Instead, he wished for all that knew him to remember the good times they shared together. In true Jay fashion, he would say "go help someone as I did, it will make you feel whole."

“Forever in our hearts, and Deeply Missed”
