Jerome Strebler, Sr.

Jerome R. Strebler, Sr., 80, of Akron, passed away December 18, 2001 at Akron City Hospital. He was born August 23, 1921 in Akron, Ohio to the late John J. & Magdalena Strebler. He was Past Secretary of the Lion's Club of Goodyear Heights, nominated for the Distinguished Flying Cross during WWII, and golfed with the Akro Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Steven R. Strebler on March 26, 1992 and brother John Strebler. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothea (Burroughs) of Akron; son and daughter-in-law Jerry & Joanne of Cincinnati OH; daughter-in-law Ruthann Angerer of Jacksonville FL; sister Katherine Elliott of Barberton; brothers Gerald of Akron, James of Tallmadge and Raymond of Akron; grandsons Matthew, David and Jeff; granddaughters Lauren and Stephanie. Friends may call Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the Family at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to the American Lung Association or the Goodyear Heights Lions Club.
