Jerry G. Brown, 66, passed away March 9, 2012 with his loving family at his side after a long battle with CLL. Jerry was born in Elizabethton, TN, the oldest of six children. He enjoyed dirt bike riding, riding his Whizzer, and camping with his family. Jerry was a long time employee of VanDevere, and enjoyed fixing cars for family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and JC Brown; younger brother, Terry Brown; and grandparents, Mom and Pa Cable, and Mr. and Mrs. R. Phillips. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; daughters, Cindy (Bruce) Evans, and Shelly (Adam) Golden; grandchildren, Addam, Alex, Kaley, Olivia, Ashley, and Derrick; brother, Ron (Anne) Brown; sisters, Vicki Morris, Peggy Moore, and Pam (Barry) Rismiller; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Trochelman, and the staff at SUMMA oncology. A visitation will be held Friday, March 16, from 4 to 5 pm at Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Rd, Akron, where a service will follow at 5 pm with Pastor Brenda Young officiating. After the service, there will be a dinner at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Free Methodist Church.
