Jerry (Bob) Lakins
Jerry (Bob) Lakins, 60, passed away Thursday May 25, 2006 surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with diabetes and heart disease. Jerry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna (nee Coen); sons, Jody (Tracey) Lakins and Jesse (Renae) Lakins; grandchildren, Madison, Bryce, Mara, Tristan, and unborn baby Lakins; brothers, Bill Lakins and Jay Lakins; sisters, Dorothy Montgomery and Peggy (Dick) May; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Tucker. Jerry was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers. Local 18 for 28 years. Kenmore Construction was his home for 20 of those years, where he took great pride in being a heavy equipment operator. He lived for his grandchildren and the love of fast cars. Family and friends may call TODAY from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Richard Rasper officiating.
