Jerry Lee Pierce, 79, passed away November 30, 2010 surrounded by his wife, daughters and son. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II and the Korean War. Jerry was a member of the VFW on Krumroy Rd., and the Army-Navy Club on Massillon Rd. He loved spending time at his farm in Salt Fork, OH, especially fishing and hunting. Jerry retired after 38 years of service from Goodyear Tire & Rubber. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Pierce; mother, Rose Smallwood; brothers, Charles Pierce, Marvin Rex Pierce and Harry Lane Pierce; step-son, Wayne Chance; great-granddaughter, Samantha Pierce; and son-in-law, Terrence Powell. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Betty Pierce; daughters, Peggy Powell, Karen (Harold) Harris, Pamela Harris and Cheryl (Robert) Hall; step-children, Margi Chance, James (Nicole) Chance and John Chance; brothers, Ralph (Ruby) Pierce and Rudy (Noni) Pierce; sister-in-law, Frieda Pierce; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. Cremation has taken place per his request. Burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
