Jerry L Unger

Jerry L. Unger, 85, passed away on February 20, 2022. He was born on October 28, 1936 the son of the late Donald and Lenore Berdine (Folk) Unger. He was a man of great faith and was one of the founding members of the Summit Mennonite Church. He was passionate about worshipping God and reading the Bible. Jerry was always willing to help others, had a positive outlook, a great sense of humor, and always with a loving heart offered helpful advice. Jerry retired after 33 years of dedicated service with the Akron Public Schools. He could fix and repair almost anything. His greatest enjoyment was the love for his family and he attended every family event.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ruth Unger; several siblings; and beloved grandson Matthew.
Jerry is survived by his loving family, children, Jeffery (Patty) Unger, Brenda (Steven) Kisner, and Bob Unger; granddaughter Elizabeth (Brenton) Maille; brother Harry Unger; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation will take place.
