Jessie I. Ray

Jessie Irene Ray, 83, passed away suddenly at her home on August 13, 2024.

She was born in Akron and was an area resident for most of her life. She retired from GM Lordstown in 2002 and was employed as a seamstress with Goodwill Industries Akron since then. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids (small doses) and her children (even smaller doses, lol), shopping, cross stitch, making quilts and especially liked telling people where to stick it.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elsie Harris; sisters, Connie Meszaros and Judy Terhesh (George); son, Jeff Lewis; and daughter, Lydia Gergosky. She is survived by sons, Ron Lewis and Earl Ray; daughters, Jenny Rhoades (Tony) and Sara Kirkland (Keith); grandchildren, Tommy Harvey, Jessica Hammer (Cory), Jeff Shawhan (Lizzy), Kalym Shawhan (lsis), Jenny Kirkland, Eric and Theresa Garretson, Terance Ray, Tiffany Bruske; and great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Raelynn, Anthony, Klohe and Kyra; nephew, George Terhesh (Cindi); and niece, Julie Wilson (Ed).

Special thank you to Al and her work family for all the love and support over the last few years. You never gave up on her!! She truly loved her job and working with you all.

A Celebration of Jessie's Life is planned for Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 2pm - 5pm at Kids Ahead Daycare Center Hall (726 S. Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore, OH 44260).
