Jewel Valentine Granata

Jewel Valentine (nee Eakin) Granata passed away at the age of 87 on March 14, 2024. Jewel was a special lady - born on Valentine's Day in Virginia. She came to Ohio as a child with her mother, Helen, and father, Mac Eakin. As a teenager, she won several beauty contests here in Akron, OH. She married Tom Granata in July 1958. They had two children, Angela and Tom. Jewel can be remembered for her amazing luck with winning! Jewel was lucky at bingo, Vegas and the lottery, starting in the 70s when she would be the first caller at radio stations.

Jewel will be missed by her children, Angela Stasik and Thomas (Ashley) Granata; grandchildren, Kelly, Michael (Colleen), Jordyn, Tommy, Gracie and Preston; 5 great-grandchildren; and special niece, Annette DeJacimo.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bath Creek Estates for their amazing care of Jewel.

Cremation has taken place and there are no formal services at this time.
