Jill R. Regenos

November 2, 1966 — September 9, 2022

Jill Renee (Beha) Regenos, surrounded by her family, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, after a two-year battle with cancer, which she fought with grace and dignity. Jill was born November 2, 1966 to Paula (Miller) Beha and Franklin (Danny) Beha in Akron, Ohio. She was the youngest child and only daughter, with two older brothers. She lived in Firestone Park, and graduated in the proud family tradition from Garfield High School in 1985. She went on to receive both a bachelor and a master degree in Social Studies Education from the University of Akron. Jill began her teaching career with the Akron Public Schools at Central Hower High School in 1990, supporting English as a Second Language students in Social Studies. When she joined the staff at Firestone High School, she developed and led the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. Being on the forefront of this program, allowed her to mentor all her students to become inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people. Jill (Mrs. Regs) was devoted to the Firestone students, staff, and community, developing life-long friendships. She was recognized with the Marilyn Parks award in 2022 for her outstanding leadership as an educator. As a proud teacher for 33 years, she delighted in her service to her students and the Akron Public Schools.
Jill married the love of her life and best friend Brian C. Regenos September 30, 2000. Together, they built their dream home where they generously hosted many events from a wedding reception and bridal and baby showers, to numerous holiday dinners, or a taco party for two watching her beloved Buckeyes. When not entertaining, they enjoyed many adventures together. She especially loved travelling to Yellowstone National Park, the majestic mountains of North America, (being one of the lucky few to see the peak of Denali in the Alaska range) sandy beaches, and a yearly trip to Cook Forest. Jill loved music and all things Elton John. She recently enjoyed his Farewell Tour in a loge at Progressive Field, singing loudly and making up the lyrics if she did not remember them. Jill was a proud member of the Ohio BuckAyes MG car club and she loved her MG family. She enjoyed HGTV, a good book, a cozy fire, and curling up on the couch with her cherished cat, Oscar, and Bri of course. She was unrivaled at gift giving, and her cheese ball, and herb dip are legendary. Most importantly, Jill was devoted to her family and especially doted (as Aunt Poppy) on her niece, nephew, and their families. She was an example of unconditional love and she will be dearly missed by many.
Jill was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband Brian Regenos; her brothers, David (Beth) Beha and Daniel Beha; her niece Caitlin (Nate) Worth; nephew, Patrick (Brittney) Beha; great nephew, Liam Worth and great nieces, Emme Worth and Baby Girl Beha; and countless other family and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Mahesh and the caring staff at Summa Cooper Cancer Center.
