Jimmie Grant, Jr.

Jimmie Grant, Jr., 77, of Akron, OH passed away on July 25, 2020. He was born June 11, 1943 to parents Jimmie Grant Sr. and Rosie Mae Wyley Grant, in Ensley, AL. His family relocated to Akron, OH when he was 4 years old, where he attended Akron Public Schools.

Jimmie (Junior, to family) was affectionately known and self-proclaimed as, "the handsome one". He was always the life of the party, and rarely missed a photo opportunity. Jimmie loved fishing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He was great at fixing electrical & electronic items and was always available to help out anyone at any time. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Rosie Grant; step-mother, Agnes Grant; eldest sister, Vera Mae Carson (and Phillip); youngest sister, JoAnn Grant; and eldest brother, L. P. Grant.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Danielle Grant; two sisters, Emma Lou Purifoy (Louis), of Camden, AK, and Beatrice Lewis, of Akron, OH; four brothers, Willie James Grant Sr., Charles Edward Grant (Cynthia), Arthur Lee Grant (Vicki), all of Akron, OH, and Timothy Grant (Saundra) of Columbus, OH; sister-in-law Sylvia Jean Grant-Willis, Akron, OH; three grandchildren, Jacob, Kaleb, and Kaligh Grant; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.


Interment:

Jimmie Grant, Jr.
"The Handsome One"
will be laid to rest at Mount Peace Cemetery.
Social distancing and face masks are required.
