It is with a very heavy heart that I have to share that Jim Magrell passed away, over the weekend following a bout of COVID and pneumonia.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life Pam, to whom he was married for over 40 years. He leaves behind two children, Brian and April; four grandchildren, Brittany, Alexis, Brandon and Payton; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna; as well as one brother, Larry and one sister, Shirley, and too many cousins to name.
Anyone that knew him, knew that he was a hard worker and would give the shirt off his back for his friends and family. There was never a tool you needed that he didn't have. He was incredibly loyal, loved family cookouts and was always up for a beer with friends. He had a big heart and spoke so proudly of his family to anyone that would listen. He had great stories which he always told with a chuckle.
He was a veteran, having served in the Navy during the Vietnam War; a retired union truck driver; a business owner; and a slew of other things, as he always looked to keep busy even in retirement. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his UBER buddies and friends from the Green YMCA.
Due to the current pandemic and in accordance with Jim's wishes he will be cremated and buried with his beloved, Pam.
While no formal ceremony will be held, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date for his friends and family.
In the meantime, on behalf of the Magrell family... We invite you to raise a glass and toast to a life well lived and we urge you to never miss an opportunity to say "I love you". Please also feel free to share any pictures or stories you have of him in this post for his friends and family.
Love you Jim, Jimmie, Crow, Dad, Papa, Pop Pop! Hug Nana for us. Until we meet again!
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
