Jimmie L. Mccumbers

Jimmie L. McCumbers, 79, went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2023. He was born on August 9, 1944 the son of the late Dilbert and Dorothy McCumbers of Akron, Ohio. Jimmie was a man of great faith and was a member of the Akron Free Will Baptist Church. He retired from GoJo's after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed rabbit hunting with his trophy Beagles. He also enjoyed being outdoors fishing and camping with family and friends. Jimmie loved working on his flower garden and won a Beautification Award for his flowers and yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol A. McCumbers; children James, Becky, Terri, Sherry, Kimmy, and David; one grandson; sister Connie Eadens; brother Denny McCumbers; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 14th, from 11:00 to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm.
Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
