Jimmie Robert Lee Nottingham Jr., 40, of New Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on July 3, 2020. He was born in Barberton on June 18, 1980 to the late Robert Lee Nottingham Sr. and Charlotte Ann Nottingham. Jimmie loved owning his own business, Nottingham Lawn Care. He had a keen interest in politics and jokingly referred to himself as "Mayor Jimmie". He was open minded to the unknown and loved to learn about evidence of Bigfoot sightings. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at the family farm in Southern Ohio, bowling and fishing. Jimmie was a sensitive person with a generous spirit. He was a natural caregiver and would help anyone in need. His unique sense of humor always brightened everyone's day. Recently, he became a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Akron. In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis Hileman and Roger Nottingham; and brother-in-law, Curtis Baker. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Diane Baker; stepmom Sheila Childs and her son, Stephen Childs; nieces and nephews, Jenny McWilliams, Michael (Melissa) Matthews, Kevin Matthews, Michelle Sutter, and Curtis Baker II. He was a wonderful uncle to all his great nieces and great nephews who will also miss him. He also leaves his beloved dog, Sandy. Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Guests are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Jimmie will be laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery.
