Jimmy G. Shambo, 54, "Keeper of the Music", ascended into paradise on June 18, 2006, surrounded by his family and friends. Jimmy is alive in our hearts and the circle of love is greater because of his love and inspiration in our lives. He joins his grandmother Rena "Granny" Shambo; grandfather John Shambo; mother Josephine; and brother John "Jack" Shambo. Missing him are his beautiful wife Dorrie; father Harold; stepmother Kathleen; children Jason (Nadia), Dylan, Kelly (Spencer) McHood; granddaughter Yeva; sisters Connie (Gary) Doxey, Robin (Art) Ochsmann, Rena (Tim) Vass; and a circle of extended family of everyone's life he has ever touched. Jimmy Shambo was an icon to our community. He opened his heart and house, and gave the gift of live music to all. The Underground Theater will live in our hearts forever. We would not have the family we have without Jimmy Shambo. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse. Online condolences may be made at www.Newcomerfamily.com.
