Jo Ann Parks, age 55 of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 9, 2016 at 8:15 PM at Pebble Creek Nursing Home.
She was born February 9, 1961, the daughter of Jeanette E. Platt Parks, with whom she lived, and the late B. F. Parks.
Jo Ann was an avid reader, especially of Christian books, and loved animals, and music.
Other than her mother, survivors include her sisters, Louann (Dave) Highman, and Diane (David) Cline; several nieces, and great-nieces and great-nephews; her companion, George Rimel; her best friend and dog, Buddy.
Memorial service will be held at the Springfield Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 15, 2016 where Pastor Larry Baldridge will celebrate her life. Family and friends may visit at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
