Jo Ann Scaglione

Jo Ann Scaglione, devoted wife of 58 years to Fred Jr., loving mother to daughters, Kellie (Dan) Chapman and Carrie (Kevin) Emhoff and sons, Fredrick III and Anthony Scaglione, passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2024 following a long illness.

Born to Kelly and Ophelia Corbett in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 1st, 1946, Jo Ann moved to Akron, Ohio following her marriage in 1966. She worked for Kroger, JC Penney and finally at May Brothers for 38 years before her retirement. Jo Ann was also a graduate of Stark Technical College and enjoyed bowling, tennis and golf. She greatly enjoyed her winters in Florida and made many friends wherever she went.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Edward. In addition to her husband and children, she leaves behind her grandchildren, Dan (Shelby), Hunter and Luke Chapman, and Mike and Austin Scaglione as well as great-grandchildren, Stella and Wesley Chapman and Vince Scaglione.

Cremation has taken place and a private family mass service will be held on October 1st. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Jo Ann’s name to Lakemore Dogs Homeward Bound, 2214 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312.
