Joan L. Morris (nee Weyrick)

Joan L. Morris, nee Weyrick, 74, passed away suddenly March 30, 2005. She was born September 30, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to Hugh & Ida Weyrick. Joan lived in Akron her entire life. She was a member of The Chapel, Fir Hill where she enjoyed working with many of her friends on the various projects at the church as well as the Tallmadge Garden Club, Tallmadge Prime Timers and the Oasis Club. Joan also enjoyed doing ceramics, singing, crafts, crocheting, knitting, traveling to visit family, working in her gardens and time shared with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh & Ida Weyrick; her in-laws; Frank & Anna Morris; Bud Morris (Betty), Lola Rose (Bill), Martha Redd. Joan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Don; daughters, Sherrie (Bob) Smith, Jo (Ron) Simers; sons, Hugh (Jeannie) Morris, Scott Morris; grandchildren, Heather, Trisha, Marla, Leyla, Ryan, Rob and Jacob; one great-grandchild, Charleigh; special grandchildren, Fancy and family; sisters, Eleanore Kennell of Colver, Pennsylvania and twin, Jean (John) Szalay of Tallmadge; aunt, Nellie Weyrick; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. with Rev. Larry Shaw officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. Saturday until the service begins. At Joan's request, cremation will follow services.
