Joan J. Skoff-Fontana, age 87 of Ravenna passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021. She was born in Akron on May 26, 1933, the daughter of the late James and Elsie {Huddlestone} Rodgers.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husbands Marvin Jones, William Urwin, Joseph Skoff and Thomas Fontana, her daughter Marvel {Urwin} Frye, and her son Billy Urwin.
Joan is survived by her sons Thomas, Richard, & Phillip Skoff; son-in-law Richard (Dorinda) Frye; grandchildren Lisa Frye, Denise Frye and Richard Frye II; great-grandchildren Alice Frye, Joseph Clelland, Zachary Frye; great-great-grandchildren Eleanor Ridenour and Raven Frye.
Joan loved to travel, and sparkled, quite literally, everywhere she went. She lived a full life of laughter and dancing, and was active in F.O.E. 555 and the Red Hat Society.
Friends are welcome to visit on Wednesday, May 26 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the 12:00 noon service, with Pastor Richard Skoff officiating. Masks are not required, but encouraged.
