Joan Ellen Stalnaker

Joan E. Stalnaker, age 89 of Akron joined her husband Al in death on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Born on February 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Joe and Mary {McMann} Butler.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Aldo Stalnaker, who passed in 2005, Joan is preceded in death by her daughter, Arlene, and her brother, Bob Butler.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Alison (Ken) Wilson; grandchildren Ken (Kelly) Wilson and Karie (Sue) Wilson; honorary granddaughter Bobbie Miller; several great-grandchildren and foster children.

Joan rode motorcycles, was a foster parent, and loved hunting, camping and playing cards. She was a member of Moose Lodge in Cuyahoga Falls, and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Joan's family would like to extend their gratitude to Joan's caregiver Veronica for all her help in her final months.

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 5 at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Bob Stevens officiating.
