Joann Byrd

Joann Byrd, 92, passed away on April 13, 2024. She was born on February 7, 1932 the daughter of the late Floyd and Nina Chase of Northhampton, Ohio. Joann enjoyed watching sports and animal shows. She was an artist and enjoyed crafts. Joann loved having her family around the dinner table and cooking her famous chicken n noodle soup with homemade noodles and her stuffed cabbage rolls. She had many accomplishments but her greatest was her love for her family especially her beloved grandchildren. And she was deeply loved by her family and will be forever in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Clint, June, Marlene, and Nick; and her true love and best friend Jack McAmis.
Joann is survived by her children, Vicki (David) Hetland, James Byrd, and Sandy (Bob) Tsolakis; grandchildren Lisa, James Jr., Tracy, Moranda, JoElla, Tammy, Benjamin, Chelsea, Timothy, and Rachel; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; siblings Norma "Cooter", Dorothy, Cindy, and Rita; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18th, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where Memorial Services will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Stephen Neumeyer officiating.
