JoAnn I. Gregg
JoAnn I.Gregg, 74, of Akron, passed into God's waiting arms Monday, June 12, 2006, after a lengthy illness. JoAnn was born in Akron, Ohio on May 24, 1932. She lived her entire life in Akron and retired from Summit County Department of Human Services. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and William Gregg; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Rich Vanke; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Betty Gregg. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Evelyn) Gregg of Canal Fulton; special nephew, Richard (Ann) Vanke of Fort Wayne, IN; companion and best friend of 46 years, Carole Schoonover of Akron; and many other relatives and friends. JoAnn also leaves behind the love of her life, her "daughter", Cee-J. Special thanks to Cuyahoga Falls Country Place personnel and to Anna's Home Health Care for the excellent care provided to JoAnn in her final days. Also an extra special thanks to Lin, Lynn, and Phyl for their enduring friendship to JoAnn.
God saw that you were getting tired-
And a cure was not to be
So He put His arms around you
And whispered, "Come home with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away;
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
A determined spirit was at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
