Joanne H. Rutkowski
August 25, 1935 — December 12, 2020
Joanne H. Rutkowski, age 85, formerly of Akron, peacefully went Home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2020.
She was married to Steve for 47 years, and since his passing in 2012, all Joanne wanted was to reunite with Steve in Heaven. Her wish has finally been granted, and they can now walk hand in hand together forever in Heaven with Jesus.
Joanne was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, always lighting up the room with her smile and kindness. Joanne was a devout Catholic who loved the Lord. She held various jobs including making donuts at Krispy Kreme to working for Ohio Edison, but her favorite job in life was being a stay-at-home mother who never said no to watching her grandchildren, her pride and joy. In addition to spending time with family, she loved playing games and cards with the family, going to bingo or the casino.
Joanne will be sadly missed by her children, Kim Bogucki (Mark), Steve (Jen), and Dave (Cindy); her grandchildren, Steven, Ron, Holly, Amy, Krissy, Ryan and Josh; and her great-grandchildren, Logan, Madison, MacKenzie, and soon-to-be baby, Adaline.
Due to government restrictions, calling hours will be by invitation only at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron.
A public Funeral Mass will be held on, Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, Ohio.
All guests at all locations MUST WEAR MASKS AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING.
Joanne will be buried next to her husband at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio, privately.
