Joanne Whitmer

Joanne Whitmer, 71, passed away February 19, 2021. Born in Miami, Florida to Natale and Harriet (Knight) Accomondo, she spent the past 45 years in Akron, Ohio. Joanne loved cats (especially her Baby Jane, Patches, Georgy, and Boots), watching birds, taking trips with her ladies' groups, participating in church activities and spending time with her family.

She will be sadly missed by her siblings, Bob Accomondo, Tena Weaver; sons, Michael Belmont, Chris (Libby) Belmont; grandchildren, Katherine, Michael, Jr., Kristine, Orion, Olivia, Jacob, Christopher, Jr., Nicholas, Isaiah, Elijah, Isaac, Alexis, Chase; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 concerns please expect to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
