Our beloved angel Jocelyn Fisk departed this life to be with her heavenly Father on January 14, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jocelyn was born September 5, 1954 in Akron , OH to the late Henry and Hazel Askew Fisk, she was full of joy and laughter. She was the life of the party she loved her family dearly.
Jocelyn attended Thornton Jr High and Central High school where she later loved to sing and dance with varies bands. She used to love to travel and drive her mom and dad down south to be with her family in Atlanta and Tennesse. In later years Jocelyn accepted Christ as her Savior and made her peace with the Lord and she was a member of Peoples Baptist Church.
Jocelyn was employed by Urban Ounce of Prevention and worked up until her health declined.
Jocelyn was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Hazel Fisk; son, Romero Fisk; grandson Jaquawn Baldwin; sisters, Mary Ellen Fisk and Elizabeth Libby Gladman; niece, Carolyn Sterling; great niece, Angel Askew; great nephew, Tradarius Burse; aunts, Lucile, Josephine, Floence, Effie, Lizie, Garliee, Francelo and Margie; Uncle Walter, Milton, Anderson, Amos; and special longtime friend Bertha Walker and Cheryl Portis.
Jocelyn leaves to cherish her memories her children Aaron Diamond and Jashawn Fisk; brothers James Officer of Sparta Tn. James Askew of Atlanta Ga, and Anthony Fisk of Denver Co.; sisters Ruby Walker of Atlanta Ga, Joanne Weems, Betty Fisk, Barbara(Rodney)Jackson all of Akron, OH and Special Aunt Louise Brown, of Atlanta Ga.; grandchildren Antoinette(Rod)Hickman, Ashley Wilson, Jaquana Shealy, Bruce Shealy, Marquest Fisk and Aaron Somler; great grandchildren Amari, ZayQuawn, Karielle, Makenzie, Layah and little RJ; special and longtime friend of 28 year ex-husband Paul Portis; special cousin Gail Smith; and special friend Phyllis Stanley.
A Memorial Service will be held at Peoples Baptist Church (525 Vernon Odom Blvd., Akron 44307) January 25th, Thursday at 12:00pm with Pastor Darrick Willis officiating.
