Joe Jr Sturm

Joe Jr Sturm, age 79, of Akron, passed away on September 6, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Joe Jr Sturm was born December 21, 1944 in Barbour County, WVA to J. Luther and Chloie (England) Sturm. He graduated from Central High School in 1963. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber as a truck tire builder and worked as a Building Maintenance Supervisor at Valley View Nursing home later retiring from Summit Villa Nursing Home. He was a member of the New Franklin Lodge No. 803, F. & A.M. 

He was proceeded in death by his three brothers, Bob, Dick and Denzil Sturm. 

He was married to Betty Jo Sturm for 37 years. She passed away in September 2012 .

Joe is survived by his sister Sue (Kenny) Curtis; children Janis Lee, Faith Hammond, Hope Reimann, Lisa Bell (Russ), Angie Judson (Joe), Jodi Wood (John Farley), and Jennifer Pietzcker; as-well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and beloved dog Annie May. 

A celebration of life is being planned. Cremation has taken place.
