Joel Christian Malek, 36, of Akron passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 15, 2019. He was born on March 24, 1983, the son of Donald J. Malek and Erin A. Keller-Watson.
Joel will be sadly missed by his parents; sister Jessica Malek-Kent; extended family in California; and many dear friends in California and Ohio.
Joel loved nature, and being outside. He was creative, especially when it came to writing poetry and making art. Joel had an incredible heart, and cared deeply for his loved ones. To his mom, he was her Joely, the only one who ever got away with calling him that.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal services at this time.
