Joel Mcdowell

Joel M. McDowell, 52, of Akron, died on August 2, 2005. He was born September 6, 1952 in Akron, Ohio. Joel was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 1761. He was a loving father and friend to all. Joel was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth M. Wiper. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl M. (Vargo) McDowell; father, Ross E. McDowell; daughter, Katie (Nick) Hogue; brothers, David (Charlene), Thomas (Crystal) and Martin; granddaughter, Kalie E. Hogue; stepson Gary Boyer; and mother-in-law, Thelma Vargo. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
