John A. Lindesmith
John A. Lindesmith, 78, of Akron, passed away April 8, 2013. He was born in Lisbon, Ohio on February 12, 1935 to the late John A. and Dorothy Lindesmith.
John proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an X-ray technician for several years and retired as an insurance salesman. In his free time, John enjoyed collecting model cars and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Frank. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia; sons, John (Karen), Brian, Craig (Traci), Kevin (Carole), and Christopher; sister, Mary Ann (Paul) Hart; grandchildren, Jason (Kari), Mathew, Alexandra, Ashley, Clark, Carson, Dalton, Shelbi, Aubrey, and Liam; great-grandchildren, Maddox, Jesse, and Rylee.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 13 from 10-12 followed by a 12 noon funeral service with Scott Baker officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2603 Benton Ave., Akron, OH 44312.
