John M. Bowers, 74, passed away on August 12, 2017. He was born in Akron on February 25, 1943 to the late Grant and Mary Bowers.
John served in the Army Reserves and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after over 30 years of service. He enjoyed working on cars and engines in his free time. John was a stubborn man who always did things his own way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Bowers; and niece, DeeDee. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Gladys Ross and brother, Jack Bowers; nieces and nephews, Terie, Michael, Anita, Karen, Bobby, Lori, Denny, Chip, Cinda, Jolene; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Faye and Eric.
Per John's wishes, private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa, 444 N. Main St., Akron, OH 44310.
