John Alan Brenize, age 75 of Akron passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022. He was born in Akron on June 15, 1946 to the late William and Lillian {Williams} Brenize.
John will be incredibly missed by his wife of 57 years, Maria; children Deborah Brenize, Diana (Mark) Rowe and John (Arika) Brenize II; grandchildren Norman (Jessica) Carreiro, Ryan Carreiro, Daniel McFadden, Madison Renner, Phillip Cabral and Victoria Brenize; great-grandchildren Emma Lynn, Emma Marie, Ethan, Keiran and Madeline; brothers Thomas (Pat) Sears, Daniel Ledsome and David Ledsome; numerous extended family members and friends.
John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam. His service as a Navy S.E.A.L. inspired his beloved career as a police officer for the Pawtucket, RI Police Department. John touched the lives of many with his musical talent throughout his life. His love of music began with the Skylarks, the band from his youth, then the Golden Decade Band that he started in adulthood, and finally as entertainer, JB Alan.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12th. A funeral service will follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. Well-deserved military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery following the service.
