John R. Burrier Jr., "Big John", age 79 of Brimfield, Ohio, died on June 4, 2021 at Mercy Hospital due to complications of Covid 19.
He was born on March 8, 1942 in Germano, Ohio, the son of the late John R. and Mabel (Flickinger) Burrier Sr.
Big John was a Class A Core Maker at American Steel Founderies in Alliance from 1966-2002, but most recently was a driver for Ron Marhofer Chevrolet in Stow. He enjoyed riding his Victory Trike and his animals, however, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna (Phillips) Burrier, whom he married on November 21, 1994; his children, Tanya (Bud) Salisbury, Karen (Jerry) Anderson, George (Darlene) Burrier, John (Rachel) Burrier, Robert (Kelsi) Burrier and Sunshine (Tony) Winigman; his son-in-law, Jim Buckner; and his 28 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren; and his wife's mother, Bonnie (Puhl) Phillips.
Other than his parents, John was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Buckner; his grandson, Anthony Salisbury; two sisters, Kay Crum Blair and Alice Bowers; and his wife's father, James V. Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron. Family and friends are invited to visit from 11:00 AM to the service time at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
