John D. Wyatt, 79, formerly of Tallmadge, went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2016, after a long illness. John was a longtime member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Norton, where he was active in many ways. He retired from Land O' Lakes Butter Company, Kent, Ohio in 1999. John served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer. He enjoyed studying his Bible, leatherworking, any church activity, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Gearl Lee "Geri," parents Elbert L. and Martha Viola (Hamilton) Wyatt; and brothers and sisters, Katherine, Cecil, Mattie, Oakie, Edward, Emmett, Marie, Alfred, Forrest, Merlie, and Charles Wyatt.
He is survived by his children John (Kathi), Ron (Kathy), and Donna (Greg) Doane; extended family member Mark (Dawn) Wilson; grandchildren Jessica (Paris), James (Angie), Angela (Rob), Michael (Mary Kay), Kyle (Jenna), Brandon, and Ryan; great-children Zoey, Sam, and Charlotte; sister Lillie (Junior) Starnes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5 pm until time of funeral service at 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Graveside service will be Saturday, April 2 at 10 am at Hillside Memorial Park.
