John E. Markle

John E. Markle, age 66, resident of Springfield Twp, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born on February 14, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA to Francis and M. Kathryn Markle. John enjoyed camping, woodworking and tinkering with cars. He was a Past Monarch of Yusef Khan Grotto in Tallmadge and formerly active in Merritt Island Masonic Lodge #353.

John was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who was fast with a joke and loved to tease. Preceded in death by his father; brother, Francis Markle, Jr. and son-in-law, Willie Strickland. Survived by his mother; wife of nearly 30 years, Jean Markle; children, Kathy (Ron) Wyatt, Tracey (Greg) Westfall, Kimberly (Jim) McCormack, Kelly (David) Korb, Michell (Michael) Loan, Michael (Karen) Hamlin and Doreen Strickland; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many other family and friends including his 'Harem' and his little four-legged girl, Annabelle.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
