John E. Skye
John E. Skye, 91, passed away on August 17, 2009. He was preceded in death by wife, Doris; and two of his granddaughters, Beth Ann and Traci. John joined the Navy during WWII, retiring in 1963, then worked for Columbus Services, retiring in 1983. John was a member of the Mogadore Christian Church and choir. Being an accomplished singer, he sang many solos and sang at friends' weddings over the years. He truly enjoyed music, golfing, traveling, and being with family and friends. He is survived by sons, John (Sharon) Skye, of Tampa, FL, Ronny (Barb) Skye, Alan Skye; daughter, Pam (Frank) Pollock; grandchildren, Mia Skye, Joe (Meri) Skye, Annie (Steve) Westfall, Brian (Lisa) Pollock, Brooke (Jason) Harris, Eric (Nicole) Pollock; 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Roy Reeser, Jr., of Redington Beach, FL; niece, Sandy (Chris) Redmond, of Redington Beach, FL; nephew, Gene (Margie) Evans; and dear friend Joyce Anthony. Our family gives special thanks to the staffs at Pebble Creek Assisted Living and In-House Hospice for their loving care and support to our father and grandfather. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 4th at Noon at the Mogadore Christian Church, Rev. Elmer Johnson officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Mogadore Christian Church, 106 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore, OH 44260.
