John Edward Johnson

John Edward Johnson, lovingly known as "J.J.", age 72, passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2024. He was born on March 20, 1952 in Akron, Ohio. 

He worked at Norandex for 14 years and ultimately retired from the City of Akron Water Company after 20 plus years of service. He enjoyed music (preferably The Beatles), fishing, camping, Mountain Dew, NCIS and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was truly a child at heart. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 and a half years, Veronica E. Johnson; his parents, Wilbur and Wilberta; and his younger brother, Terry. 

John is survived by his remaining siblings, Sherri (Donald) Mercer, Peggy Tanner and Howard (Ashley); his children, Catherine (Charlie), Christopher (Nikki) and Charles; honorary daughter, Amy Conley; longtime son-in-law, Dave Bensch; grandchildren, David (Hayley), Steven (Robin), Aaron, Alexis (Mateo), Mercedes (Chris), Corinne and Lydia; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Cremation has taken place and there are no formal services planned for this time.
