John F. "Jack" Ellis
John F. "Jack" Ellis, 84, of Brimfield, died on December 20, 2004 after an extended illness. He was born March 8, 1920 in Tallmadge, Ohio to the late Fred & Alice (Shuman) Ellis. Jack proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. before retiring with 38 years of service. He was also a member of the Amos Englebeck Masonic Lodge. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donald K. Ellis and sisters, Thelma Kissinger and Harriet Winters. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Edna L. Ellis of Brimfield; daughters, Beverly (James) Mondello of Uniontown and Marilyn (Mark) Zimmerman of Kent; son, John (Dianna) Ellis of New York; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. with Masonic services at 6:30 p.m., Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Alexoff officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Smith for his special care and Rev. Dan Alexoff for his ministry.
