John William Fate, Jr., 60, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2016. John was a 1975 graduate of Ellet High School. He was formerly employed at Bally Total Fitness and Nickles Bakery and he was currently studying and working to become a drug and alcohol counselor. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and it brought him great joy to see the Cavs bring one home before his passing. He resided at the Valor Home for a short time and while there, he established friendships and helped many get back on the right track. John proudly served in the United States Army as a Financial Specialist, where he was stationed at Fort Hood, TX. John has impacted a lot of people and he will be dearly missed by many.
John is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Fate and Melinda Farmer; parents, John, Sr (Jack). and Margaret (Peggy) Fate; siblings, Jim Fate, Debbie (Mike) Keppler, Karen (Jimi) Pelfrey, and Pam Marino; 3 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 5 pm until time of memorial service beginning at 6 pm on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Rev. Frank Woodrum will officiate. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in John's name to the Valor Home, 1121 Exeter Rd., Akron, OH 44306.
