John Wayne Fincham

John Wayne Fincham, 83, passed away October 25, 2020 at home with his family by his side. Born in Gilmer, West Virginia he resided in the Akron, Ohio area most of his adult life. John was a retired U. S. Army Veteran and a Silver Star Recipient in the Viet Nam War. After retirement he volunteered with the VA in transporting other Veterans to appointments. John enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles, being outdoors, fishing, gardening, classic cars, watching football, and spending time with fellow veterans as well as his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Casey Lynn Fincham and other loved ones. He will sadly missed by daughter, Chelsea (David) Kearns; grandson, Cayson; sisters, brother and all those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of John's Life with military honors will take place Monday, November 9, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio. Due to current Covid 19 concerns, please expect to wear masks and practice social distancing. Those who wish may make memorial donations in John's name to the veterans organization of their choice.
