John "Bob" Robert Fuller, age 78, of Akron passed away on April 9, 2024. He was born on October 12, 1945, to the late George and Nell Fuller. He graduated from Garfield High School of Akron, class of 1963. Bob was a Vietnam Veteran in the U.S. Army where he served with the 504th Military Police Battalion. He was a member of the American Legion Post #566. He worked at Mohawk Tire and Rubber, Burger Iron Structural Steel, and retired from Akron Public Schools. Bob was an avid Browns fan, loved gardening and camping. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Ellen Fuller; children Matthew Fuller, Michael D. (Carla) Fuller, and Christopher (Amanda) Fuller; grandchildren Ryan Fuller, Marissa Fuller, Madeline Fuller, Michael R. E. Fuller, Evan Fuller, and Elliot Fuller; siblings Michael J. (Dottie) Fuller, and Janet Carney; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Fuller, and Sharon Cogar.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother David Fuller; brothers-in-law David Cogar, Kurt Miller, John R. Miller, and Thomas Carney; sister-in-law Cindy Cogar.
Family would like to thank Summa Hospice, especially Gina and her team, for the care and support they provided to Bob and his family.
Visitation will be held from 3-6pm on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home with family and friends sharing at 6:00pm.
Burial will take place at 10:45am on Friday, April 19th, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
